ORIGINAL: Count dTen [:)]Thank you for the reply. I have, of course more questions. For one, why can't I get my land based air to target a nearby taskforce, or even an enemy port facility just two hexes away (within range of the attack squadron)? You can't point the TF as a target, but you can set port (airfield) as a target. Also, since I am trying to experiment instead of playing fair, is there a quick way to halt the play out of a turn? This would allow me to easily repeat the turn and try something different (while I can still remember what I just did). No, you can't interrupt resolution phase. I've also tried task forces following each other, but in night combat at least, the second task force never seems to take part. There is a die roll, which depends on many factors - TF compositions, leader, enemy TF, enemy leader, weather, experiences, etc. In another case I was landing troops with two taskforces "escorting," but when the enemy ships jumped the task force at night (and went through a couple of rounds of combat) the escorts never took part. [X(] Is speed or leadership a factor? The same as above. Yes speed and leadership are important It's a fascinating game, but very slow-playing on my poor pc.
