Deltadog -> RE: 2 base throwing error (9/21/2006 5:51:58 PM)

There have been 2 or 3 "official patches" An official patch is issued when they feel that it is stable and that all of the bugs that it was meant to resolve has been eradicated. After an official patch I believe that the version distributed to initial purchasers is replaced with the patched version. As other bugs are addressed, they issue a number of beta patches which correct some bugs, but may turn out to cause others. They warn users that these patches might not be stable and that they should be used at the players own risk. A quote from the usal disclaimer they publish with beta releases is as follows. "*** WARNING BETA RELEASE *** *** WARNING BETA RELEASE *** *** WARNING BETA RELEASE *** *** WARNING BETA RELEASE *** Please note, this is BETA software and is NOT an official release. Please do not install this unless you are willing to accept possible bugs and other issues. Be sure to backup any associations you are really attached to before considering using them with a beta. That said, PureSim beta releases are typically very solid and I truly appreciate all the help the community provides with testing them. It is an integral part of the process of getting high quality official releases out the door. " When they are satisfied that the beta release is stable and as bug free as they can get it they issue an, Official patch" The most current beta patch is 1.38.
