Arkham -> Barges worth while in invasions? (9/29/2006 8:17:30 PM)

So i have a large force spearheaded by the 1st Marine about to invade Kwanijan from Tawara. I have them all loaded into transports and packed with supplies.

Now, my question is twofold:

Is it good to have CA's and CL's in the transport taskforce, and is it worth while to activate barges right when I am about to land my troops?

Yes CA's and CL's held supress the CD guns , they also seem to act as shell magnets so be careful with light armoured units. You can add BB's by creating an escort TF then changing its mission to transport [;)][;)]. the BB's can soak up CD shells all day[:D]

As for Barges (as allied) i find the LST's (cap 1000) are useful although a bit slow. the smaller LCI (190) i find less useful as they are b%$$%^ to get to load up men so i use em for carting supply direct to the beach.

Hope that helps

Hi

'Activating barges right when I am about to land my troops?' wont help you land your troops , you just use up some supply to 'activate' them and what you get is a Transport TF of Barges[Empty] which you will have to move to your nearest base to load with supplies.
