Everytime you ask for a patch release date, Gary Grigsby kills a kitten.

Please, think of the kittens. [:(]

Phwaw! Kittens still have all of their 9 lives - as long as Gary switches kittens every now and then they'll be fine. [;)]

Gawd I hope they stop throwing good after bad...there is no way the "AI" can be improved as it is simply scripted.

DD696 -> RE: Is Patch 1.802 Near? (10/1/2006 1:04:21 AM)

8/02/2006: "Coming soon"

8/21/2006: "Work completed on 1.8.0.2"

Maybe after Christmas would be my guess judging by when the database editor was ready for release and when it was actually released, but I am being overly optimistic, so say 1st quarter 2007 (around late March).

Yes.

It'll be released just as soon as they discover some critical bug to be fixed in 1.9

1 = I doubt it
2 = For the most part they will tell when they finish testing the patch. If you read thru all the threads you get glimmers of things on the list. Unfortunately you also get glimmers of things that will come in the patch afterwards, and after that.

And thus, the cycle of life continues...

Flipper

P.S. A "life" was what we all (at least some of us) had before WITP came out.

Ron Saueracker -> RE: Is Patch 1.802 Near? (10/1/2006 4:38:10 AM)

I'm assuming they will fix the base crashing kamikazes along with the impossible to intercept high kamikzes from hell. This should not be an enhancement. Be nice if they sorted the uber CAP crap too...it is brutally flawed enough to qualify as a necessary bug fix, not a treat. As for the nightmare that is land combat, this is sooo bad that it needs a defribrilator, which has to be charged as an enhancement if it is to be addressed at all.

RevRick -> RE: Is Patch 1.802 Near? (10/1/2006 6:21:14 AM)

Remember the delay in the 6.0 editor. Guys and gals, we must have got the people in production mad, or worse. If it's been ready for a month, and not here, we aren't high enough on the food chain now to warrant their attention. Hmmm. Do I hear the door creaking closed on WitP?

RUPD3658 -> RE: Is Patch 1.802 Near? (10/1/2006 6:54:42 AM)

Why would Matrix release a patch? There is nothing left to fix[:D]

That would be a big booboo methinks. Why alienate the very people who have made this product so much more financially successful than the devs ever hoped?

Because we haven't done anything for them this week.

Sure we have! We've...err....well...hmmm...I think there was one post in the wish list that said cheers for WitP2.[:D]
