In case any of you are interested I am selling a copy of.

SEASTRIKE - ARIEL/ROBIN WYATT 1977 RARE WARGAME - 100% complete and unplayed ( both sheets of counters are unpunched. Box is in poor condition but is complete. Very hard to find Wargames research Group game).

This is about the best boardgame of its type and has been OOP for a very long time.

Item is 220032358080

Link is

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=012&item=220032358080&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1

Posting this as Most here know I make a living off ebay and post the juicy things here ( hate to see it go to a non wargamer for nowt)

PS: Also a nice 1990's Settlers of Catan in German. [8D]

Cheers WATCHTOWER

Greyshaft -> Is there a policy on this? (10/4/2006 12:34:51 AM)

This raises the question of whether Matrix Forums should be used for commercial purposes. I see three options:

1. Ban any and all posts like this one.
2. Turn a blind eye to the occasional post by a regular contributor. I think that's the current policy.
3. Create a separate thread like the quiz thread and move all 'trash and treasure' posts into that area. However that could open a pandora's box of e-bay merchandisers trying to offload their 500 copies of 'ET' for the Atari.

I have no opinion on the matter at the moment since I'm still thinking it through, but I'd be interested in hearing other points of view. My guess is that Matrix will say 'Don't ask for permission because we'd have to refuse... and don't try and sell more than one item every six months or we'll ban you from the Forum'.

Thoughts?

Only that option '2' seems the most reasonable. It seems fair enough when the item concerned is potentially of particular interest to posters, as is the case here. I'd have bid myself if I'd had any potential opponents for it!

BTW, watchtower, I'm curious - how come the box is so knackered if the game has never been played (and the uncut counters clearly show it hasn't been)?

Blimey Guy's -[:o]

I have done this about 3 times in two years

AND its only when I thought it was something that you guys might like to look at -- what are you?? XXXing communists or something??? Not that that Crap is a bad thing [:D]

All i was doing was advertising a VERY RARE BRILLIANT GAME ---- Do a search on this

I thought I was doing you a service ---- BTW AT LEAST one MATRIX EMPLOYEE has bought something off me after doing this [:D]

I do not know myself - I bought it at a boot sale and it looked Knackered but as a wargame pro I zoomed it straight away. I expected it to be horrible but liffted the lid and apart from the chalk pencil leaking it was all lovely. I am not sure what the printing of this was but guess at 10,000 -20,000 in 77. Look it up on the net- rated very high.

Sorry if this looks like spam but after 800 odd posts, I think about 3 or 4 are about very rare stuff I might be selling on ebay that is of interest to the community.. Sorry if I have offended .

[:(]

What gets me down is that greyshaft had nothing to say about the game. he just wanted to discuss the politic of myself listing its availability here -- [sm=00000734.gif]

David Heath -> RE: Is there a policy on this? (10/4/2006 4:30:40 AM)

Hi Guys

I do not mind a post here or there on an old game like this one or one of the forum members selling their game collection. I just do not want this to get out of hand.

David

David has spoken , looks like your allright watchtower. Yes, I agree with you, that your post of this type are few and far between. It seems like you made the right judgement, wargamers are interested in this.

You're right watchtower... I wasn't really interested in the game but I was just curious about the Matrix policy and I did point out that I had no personal opinion on the matter. Anyway, David's answered my question and his answer is in line with what I thought... so where's the problem [&:]

Not sure what set you off but if you tell me I'll be sure to write it down and say it again [:D]
(and just for the record, that last comment was a joke)
