Moriturus -> Map Modding Questions (10/13/2006 8:05:20 AM)

I'm messing around with the Korea 2005 scenario, and I would like to make the Russian area playable, although initially as exclusion zone 3. When I run the cursor over the various Russian hexes, it describes the terrain underneath and then labels them as "non-playable." From this, I am getting the impression that there is a completed map area that has been masked by "non-playable" tiles, but I can't figure out how to remove the black tiles to expose the terrian undernaeth (or at all, for that matter). [:(]

Also, while I have been able to add hexes to exclusion zones (I did so with the American airbase in Japan because I thought it highly implausible that the North Koreans would immediately begin dropping missiles on the Japanese mainland, even if it is a U.S. facility), I have not been able to figure out how to create an additional excluson zone for Russia (assuming I can get rid of the "non-playable" tiles). I want to set up an option where the Russians enter the war (albeit on a limited scale) if the Chinese invade North Korea. How do I create another exclusion zone? [&:]

1) There is no exclusion Zone-3, only -1 and -2.
You can create zones using RMB and select -1 or -2 on a given hex.

2) Non-playable black hexes can be creasted and removed like other terrain. Scroll the terrain list and you'll find it bottom left.

Dang. I guess you can't have three sides in TOAW, anyway . . .

Aha! Now, is there a good topo map resource on the Net which I could use to guide my efforts to update the terrain? It doesn't look complete after I've stripped the non-playable areas. Many thanks for any help or guidance anyone can offer. [&o]
