What can we expect the system requirements to be for the PC?

While the game play screens look to be fairly static, I don't know if there will be some huge MIDI files for theme/mood music, or "animated cut scenes" like in other games.

Mind you, I'm not a kid and I don't NEED or necessarily WANT cut scenes. I'm just curious to know if your marketers had this stuff added to improve the "eye candy" quotient.

Joisey:

Actually the system requirements are pretty reasonable. The design was laid down a few years back before 60gb harddrives and 512mb RAM was standard. I utilized the DX7 interface (DX7 or later will work). We're using a 1024 x 768 screen resolution and I believe today the entire foot print is close to 245MB. I think it will run on 64MB RAM BUT please make sure you have at least 128MB since the performance on less than 128MB will be slow. I have tested on a PIII 700Mhz and it is fine as long as you have at least 128MB RAM.

Now keep in mind that this is pre-manual but I cannot see it getting much bigger but this could change a bit!

Thank you

That shouldn't be a problem for me.  My PC's are a few years old, and not cutting edge, but are fairly standard for what you find in an office these days.

Well, as an avid BF2 player, I have a 3.2 dual core processer with a gig of RAM and a high end vid card...maybe I can run two or three games at once and wear out my alt/tab bottons!

That should work just fine! You could probably run the Homeland Security Department at the same time you're playing EiANW.

Thank you

Oh I so like the idea of running two or three games at once.  I could experiment with different moves from the same initial set up and see the results.  No more wondering if I should have stayed and fought or retired to the city, or what would have happened if I had picked a different chit choice.  Oh, the geek in me is happy, happy, happy!

Well, remember that outcome is determined to some extent by die roll. Maybe choice A would have been fine if you rolled better. [:-]

True enough, but thats what the ole save and reload is for! How many times are YOU willing to save and reload to win a crucial battle?

I only cheat within the rules!

Joisey -> RE: System Requirements (10/20/2006 6:48:42 PM)

Actually, I'd try to play it through, losses and wins.

If you have no chance of losing, that's not much of a game.

YohanTM2 -> RE: System Requirements (10/21/2006 2:40:50 PM)

There was talk of the game reaching out to a utility for die rolls so cheating could not (or be lessened) in pbem but I have no idea where this is...and it has been so long I may be thinking of a different game.

yammahoper -> RE: System Requirements (10/21/2006 5:09:51 PM)

Well, about save and reload...

Unlike a straight forward FPS, save and reload in a game like this will be a learning experience. Will the AI make the same choices in both games? Sure, save and reload can almost insure a victory for a single battle, but it offers a chance to learn more about the AI. What if one game is set on normal AI and the other hard AI? I will be able to see what the diferences in AI are directly. I have many little experiments in mind, and intend to try them all, plus many I probably have not thouht of.

Joisey -> RE: System Requirements (10/22/2006 3:48:07 AM)

And after all your experiments, you will inevitably find an achilles heel, a loophole in the AI that you might not ever have noticed in 100 regular games not saved and reloaded.

And having learned to game the AI, you turn a fun game into something boring and predictable.

NO THANKS

...or Mr Joisey, it could be become an email explaining an exploit to the Matrix dev team.

Plank, mote, eye, etc.

do you think a 350mghz is enough ? (I mean regardless of the ram)

yammahoper -> RE: System Requirements (10/31/2006 2:48:29 AM)

Well, I gamed long and hard on a 400, moved up to a 677, then BANG, a 2.52, now my monster 3.2. On 800X600 resolution, I bet 350 will be more than enough, though I am sure Matrix will list requirements at some time.

Ah, Playing Total Annihilation on the old machine, LANed up, for hours on end. I am only so good at micro management, typically had my butt handed to me! Was fun though, building nuke defenses as fast as I could hoping to hold on long enough to build the big units. If 400mhz was enough for that, EiA should be a piece of cake on 350.
