PaladinSix -> Manstein's Maps (10/20/2006 2:49:56 AM)

Anyone know where I might find good hard-copy paper maps of the Eastern Front, specifically for work with Manstein's campaign diary Lost Victories? I'm re-reading it now and I think there are some excellent possibilities in it for TOAW scenarios, but I'm hampered by the poor quality of the maps. Ideally, I would like to find something with a high-level of detail over a fairly large area. Obviously, these would be pretty big maps, but I'm not too concerned about size. Anyone got a good source for something like that?

You might try the TDG forum. There is a fellow named Goran (sp?) who posts there and seems to be quite interested in Eastern front maps.

www.mannaberg.se is his home page where you can find a load of east front maps for download. If you're looking for a certain map/area or battle he will surely help you, i think he has a bunch of maps not uploaded to his page which he might share on request.

The best maps I have seen are the Glantz' atlases of the eastern front. They have daily unit positions and copies of the original german operational maps, for example if you want to know where all the units are on the 8th August 1941 the info is there!. Size is 12" x 18" with dozens of maps in each atlas, They are expensive though.
