zoommooz -> bombard evasion (10/26/2006 3:47:48 AM)

Why am I the only one asking questions ( not a good sign). Anyway, when a bomber is attacked on a bombing run the manual says that a modified, random, bombard evasion number is produced. I don't quite understand this. Does it mean that the number is random, but the units evasion has some determining factor?. The reason i ask is that during the above bombing run, 2 of my bombers were attacked by a flak cannon, and both rolled a "random" bombard evasion of 1. When it was time for my bomber to attack ground targets, in this case artilery, these artilery both rolled a "random" bombard evasion of 7. These numbers have nothing to do with combat modifiers as far as i can tell, so supresion fire has nothing to do with it. I guess it is possible that i just happened to get a low roll, and the other player happend to get a high roll, but is seems beyond chance that both of the rolls ( one set for my bombers evasion, one set for artilery evasion) were both the same respectively??

Bombardment EV roll is a number from 1 to the units EV value.

It is rolled seperately for each unit for each attack.

The RNG does seem sort of streaky for it though. I've seen quite a few times where you see a string of 1s for the EV rolls. I chalked it up to simply remembering the extremes rather than all the times it wasnt extreme. ;)
