Can anyone explain why my artillery response times for my core artillery is getting larger as time goes on? The nationality of my force is German and my core artillery is composed of SdKfz 250/7 GrW (8cm mortars in half-tracks). All have experience in the 90s. They started with a response time of .4, progressively improved to .2 and now are getting worse again. Most are at .3, some at .5 and one at 1.0. I also use a core FO with an experience of 97.

All that said, why would my response times be getting worse after they improved? Not sure if this is a bug or a game concept that I haven't heard of.

I read a thread a long time ago that this is a game concept. Apparently, this is supposed to reflect the decline in the quality of the German Wehrmacht in the latter part of the war.

Sounds reasonable. Do you remember if late '42 is might be about when that occurred?

IIRC it was supposed to start around the end of 1942 or beginning of 43' to simulate the loss of seasoned veterans via the Stalingrad campaign and bloodletting from the losses in North Africa.
