32shaw -> No Victory Point Screen (11/4/2006 2:06:56 AM)

I think a problem with the Strategic Map Screen may be preventing me from getting a Victory Point screen and continuing my current game with an East vs West war. Although neither Germany nor Japan have any units or controlled regions, on the far right of the Strategic Map screen, on the line for the Axis powers, there is the number 1 next to the factory icon. As both Germany and Japan have the number 0 next to the factory and world icons on their lines on the left side of the Strategic Map screen, I'm at a loss as to why there's the number 1 next to their factory icon on the right of that screen. Can anyone help me here? Is this just the result of a misfunction of my game system? Is there a way to fix this problem by going back a season or more in the game sequence? I'm presently in the Spring 1946 move, but I've previously gone as far forward as Spring 1947 without seeing Germany and Japan cease getting game turns or coming off of the Strategic Map listings. I went back to the Winter 1946 move, which was the season when the last Axis power was conquered, to see if by switching off the No Automatic Victory option I could get a Victory Screen when Japan was conquered; but no luck. As I want to continue on with the WA against the Soviets, I hate to give up on the current game. 32shaw

It was the same in the first WaW if I recall correctly: The minimum amount shown for the Axis was 1 even if they had no production at all. I guess this was made to prevent a division by zero when calculating the relation between Allied and Axis production (relevant for the winning conditions at the time). It might well be that this piece of code slipped through to A World Divided.
