What there isn't: There are no rain delays. There is no warming up of pitchers. There are no specific 'rare plays'. There are no ejections. There are no brawls. There is no catcher interference. There is no 'size of foul territory' ballpark effect. What there is: There are weather effects, primarily altitude, temperature, and wind. There are ballpark effects (short porch, deep outfield, tall walls). You will see the occasional 'rare play' such as a steal of home, a pitcher hitting a triple, etc. There are wild pitches and passed balls. There are in-game injuries. Strategic choices include: Outfield: shallow, normal, deep Infield: normal, guard the lines, in Pitch out Pitch around Intentional walk Steal second, third, home; double-steal Hit and Run Sacrifice Bunt Bunt for a hit The usual consequences abound - e.g., from a 'hit and run', you have an increased chance of moving a runner from first to third, or from second to home, and a decreased chance of ground-ball double-play, but at the risk of the strike-em-out throw-em-out double-play or a line-drive double play. The commentary is fairly generic - it will usually run something like "1 out, runner on first. John Smoltz pitches to Albert Pujols (.343, 24 HR, 62 RBI) Albert Pujols today: 2 for 3 The 3-1 pitch... Double to right center field! Jim Edwards scores!" The commentary can not be customized.
