SPWAW? SPIII updated? No! SP3 rewritten head to foot? Higher resolution? 300+ Meg download? What! Single vehicles, single squads? Ohhh.. I like that, never did get into the "platoon" scale of SP3. Hmm... Better check this out...
Really enjoying CM right now, great game, but need to kick around this SPWAW. If its based on my big time favorite SP engine, can't be all too bad. After getting the CD in the mail, and fiddling with the preferences to a play style I liked (no messages, numbers on infantry only, .2 second live delay), SPWAW fit like a glove. Almost fell out of my chair on the first rocket barrage. With no messages, you can play with the slow artillery and it comes pretty fast with the full sound effects, and the sound of the rocket explosions shook me up! Incredably loud! And the rest of the sound effects is simply impossible to describe except its a pure delight. There sure is quite a bit of it! Big thanks!
Game play is outstanding and I really like the new armor mechanics. Really nice. Its quite an accomplishment. Anything that can take me away from CM for a week is very impressive. Outstanding job folks, outstanding.
LBM Question:
I like the OOBs and commend them. Only fault is the setting of some items to 12/49 to 49, and the lack of LBMs, which I have read is due to OOBs still undergoing work. A couple of weeks after the up and coming release of SPWAW version 3.0, supposedly the new OOBs will be available. Will the missing LBMs also be included? Are more of the b&w LBMs to be replaced with color LBMs? I have many of the color LBMs and have been replacing them where I can, but much rather see this done by the OOB update to follow after version 3.0
SP: Modern
There has been some discussion, and I must say I'm really looking forward to this project. Of course, I'm looking forward to CM2, CM3, and so on. But the Modern era is sorely lacking. SP: Modern would simply be another dream come true. I want to voice my support for this, and more than willing to pay a price for it. More than willing!
Looking forward to the hinted Modern forum. Looking forward in reading progress reports on SP: Modern. Please, make it so...
Thanks,
Garry
