As above, are they hardcoded when and where they will arrive? Is there any difference between the Allied/Japanese LCU?

As for the Japanese side you have some options regarding what factories to expand?
So lets say you have a big surplus of tanks, will there be a new tank rgt create? Or is it all upp the what bases you have at a certain time?

NO - only historical units. Surpluses can only be used to replace losses in combat

If a reinforcement unit is due to arrive at a base and you do not own it - the unit does not arrive.

That is not strictly speaking correct. Each side has a default "home" base for reinforcements, but a reinforcement unit can be set to arrive at ANY base on the map. If you don't own that base, then it defaults to your "home" base, AND if you don't own that one, then the unit won't arrive unless or until you take the base back.

Not exactly hardcoded, this can be changed using the database editor, but once a scenario is under way, this is no longer changable without a restart.

Don't chinese units have Chungking as a home base but then if they can't reform there they default to yet another base, Karachi? Or is it that Karachi is there arrival base and Karachi is set as there homebase?
