football man -> Program to Unzip files (11/18/2006 2:43:08 AM)

Pardon this stupid question but...

While looking at these great uniform designs, I was wondering... what programs do MaxFB gamers use to unzip the files?

I've haven't had the need to have or use such a program in many years but I may get this game soon & would like to use some of these great unis.

BTW, I have Windows XP and was once told it has a zip program that comes with it. Is that true and if not, where can you find freebies on the web?

Many thanks for any pointers you may have.

Welcome.
Winzip is probably the most popular. Not sure what WinXP comes with, I have just always used winzip.

Its not free, but does have a long evaluation period.

But, a free one I just tried is called Zip Reader from PKWare

Seemed to work ok.

I also never heard about xp having a build in zip program . I use win zip , and been using the evaluation period for over 2 yrs at no charge .

Windows XP can handle zip files natively. Just click on a double click on a zip file in Explorer and it will open in another window.

If zip files have been set to be opened with another program, you can set them back to use the native handling via the File Types tab of the Folder Options of the Tools menu item.

As others have said, Windows XP will handle zip files in Explorer, but I've found that the performance of it degrades rapidly as the size of the zip file increases. I use ZipGenius from http://www.zipgenius.it/.

football man,

Welcome, hopefully we get along great.

I will not consider any of your questions stupid.

I use IZARC. It's free. It works with other formats such as RAR and 7Zip.
