On page 19 under Difficulty. This section states that the 3 easiest levels are Tutorial, Corporal and Sergeant. First Sergeant is listed as the level with no bonuses for player or AI. But either the game needs to be updated to match the manual or the manual needs updating because Sergeant level is the level that gives no bonuses. Only Tutorial and Corporal help the player as First Sergeant helps the AI. I discovered this as I picked First Sergeant and noticed on the nation screen i was losing money, iron etc. in the difficuty column. It seems odd that only two selections help the player, 1 is balanced and the rest are for the AI.

Manual errors:
p.98, section I.1.2. The section heading for "Good" command staff rating should be in bold. Do I get the award for smallest error noted?

p.161, section A.4.3 The first sentence in the Rail Supply section is, I believe, a fragment that runs into what should be the 2nd sentence starting with the capitalized words "
Rail Supply." Or at least something is left out.

It would be beneficial to have a diagram showing what hexes a unit is considered to be "facing", which are "flanking", and which are "behind" the unit. This is easy to figure for the hexes next to the unit, but what about those more than 1 hex away?

By the way, as a player of wargames for decades this is a great game. Well done and thanks to the developers.

Rik81 -> RE: Manual Errors Report - CAMPS (6/4/2008 12:34:05 PM)

I just got the game. While it installed fine and also patched without a problem, the Game Manual(s) will not "open". Is this perhaps a result of them being made in an earlier version of Adobe? My computer is running Adobe 8.

How can I get the manuals to open?

Did you try to open the manuals from your adobe version? You find the manuals in the folder manuals of FoF.

No, I had tried from the "opening menu" page, and also by going into the FoF/Manuals folder and "clicking" the file.

Just now, I started Adobe 8 First, then did an File/Open and it worked! So at least now I can read the manual. Still there must be something wrong if you can't get it from the start screen of the game.
