Kuokkanen -> Any 'easy' campaigns? (12/8/2006 3:13:00 PM)

Ever wanted having many times greater force to crush down your enemy? That is what I want! I am so fed up having lesser or equal forces against AI where only advantage is human intuition and skills. I want for change having big badass army to crush my prey. So are there any relatively short campaigns or scenarios in SPWAW which offers just that? Becouse I'm so fed up playing with Finnish Defense Force against Red Army (metaphor).

Try "Balkan Crisis." You are going against Yugoslav Partisans and some Russians, and even Bulgarians in this one..it is 6 or 7 battles long.
However, it is a imperative to not lose much of your force as you progress as you have limited repair points.

Take any campaign in the game, and adjust you purchase points at the beginning to something higher. You can also adjust your build/upgrade points to buy more of the better equipment as it becomes available. The same method can be used to make a campaign more challenging. I've done both, and its nice to set them at where it feels right to the player.

You're serious right?

You don't consider your mind adequate advantage?

I consider the single biggest weakness in Steel Panthers to be "Battle" mode, because the AI is a complete moron in them.
I don't really consider the Long Campaigns fair, as after a few battles I feel like an ogre kicking around a puppy.

Matti,

My two favorite campaigns are Long Long Road to Victory, and Stalingrad.

I usually have to give myself handicaps because I find most battles against the computer AI to be too easy.  But I have been playing for many years and have a lot of practice.

If you are having trouble defeating the computer AI, then a good way to make the game easier for you is to increase your sighting to 120% and increase your hitting to 120% and increase your rout/rally to 120% and decrease the computer special op-fire to 80%.  That should give you a strong advantage against the computer AI no matter what campaign you choose to play.

I've done that too, very good advice, especially for Stalingrad!

Try "From Utah to the Rhine" (British campaign). Lots of Artillery- and Air-Force-support, more than enough support-points to beef up your core force and repair your vehicles... hm, i have bought Commando-Infantry for my core force. Not that fair, but legal... and a great help to win a battle in bocage-areas. After
the 4th or 5th battle they are real, real killers... no fear of
anything (but those 2-cm-Flak-Vierlings).

Greetings,

TL.

Actually "Utah to the Rhine" is a USA Campaign.
"Normandy Gold" is a British campaign

Ouch! OK, "Normandy Gold".

Greetings,

TL.
