Hi, As low level a thought as this is, I was wondering if it possible for the ubiquitous SPWAW team to pull out all the programming stops and even go to the ends of the earth and beyond to the next newly discovered humongous planet outside our own solar system - if need be - to provide newbies and even intermediate players like myself ready access to the SP Manual during play (i.e., without first having to save the current game and exiting back out to the main opening screen menu? Is this a DOS to Windows sort of 'programmer-unfriendly' conversion nightmare? If not, I sure would value the expediency of having access to that manual while playing. One option you may want to consider is to print out the manual. It is a large print job, but one I feel is worth it. I printed out the manual placed it in document protectors inside a 3-ring binder. With each update I print out the changes sheets and add them in. It also works well because I can make notes on the manual with a dry erase pen and not mark up the pages themselves. I emagine you caould even put it on disk and take it to Kinko's to have it bound or whatever you like.

I hit Control-Esc (The Windows Key will work, for those of you unfortunate enough to be inflicted with a keyboard that has one) to go back to the Windows Desktop and open the MANUAL.PDF file. When done looking up what you needed to, click on the the Steel Panthers icon in the taskbar to get back to the game.

Ahh! having the manual completely printed out, Liebstandarte, is the most versatile, but I am too frugal (cheap, I guess) to part with so much ink from my ink jet printer. Orc4hire, I don't know why I didn't think to try this . . . but the way the game loads I felt like I was back in DOS. I know what you mean; it took me longer than it should have to think of it myself. When you're in the game it seems so much like the old DOS game it can throw you, especially an old pre-Windows gamer like me...
