Taz0713 -> Ball Flight Question (12/21/2006 1:43:47 AM)

I know that this is probably an issue with the settings on my laptop, but after I installed the update the ball flights seemed to be much shorter. For example, a ball hit to deep right for a home run will barely travel over the infield. I know that I have had a couple of other system updates, so this may be the source of the problem.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

How do your ball-flight locations look when you go to your edit ballpark screens. That's the first thing I would check. Maybe they got reset somehow.

I am not sure how I would go about checking that.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I figured out the screen of where to look and it does look like the ball flight was adjusted for all fields. So now the question would be how do I go about fixing the problem. Also is there a way to fix all of the fields or does one have to do it field by field? Please note, I have a basic knowledge of computers, but this one may be above my head.

Thanks again,

Randy

You will have to go into each individual teams ballpark and re-adjust the ball-flights individually. Doing 10 or more stadiums/ each ball location, can take hours.

To adjust them, you basically just click on it and slide it to the spot you want it to be. Each location will have a code to show where that location should be put.

For instance : 7LD is "left field(7), line (L), and deep (D).

Heres another : 89S is "between center and right field(89), and shallow(S).

3F would be "first base area", but "foul"(F).

They are fairly easy to figure out. Then just slide them around till you think they are in a place accurately depicting their label code.

I found that most of the ballparks I downloaded had pretty bad ball flight locations and I had to manually change every one. I also stagger their locations just a tiny bit from ballpark to ballpark. That way as I manage and watch the games, I can never really predict exactly the final location of the ball till it actually lands. That adds a little bit of realism for me. I may have a foul ball to thirdbase right outside the line in one park, but in the next park I put that same location all the way near the dugout.

Thank you for the help. It looks like I have a little project to start working on.

I should probably rescind my statement about it taking hours to adjust many stadiums ball-flight locations. I adjusted 18 stadiums completely a few days ago in about an hour or maybe a little less.
