General Quarters -> Brigade Attirbutes and Special Abilities (12/26/2006 10:53:00 PM)

For QB especially, these are rated by Attack, Defense, and Morale boosts.

In this context, does Defense help only the army whose territory is being invaded (the defender), and Attack help only the invading army (the attacker).

Or are they tactical values, that help both the defending and invading army in the thrust and barry of battle itself?

be better to let Eric speak up on this one

"Defense" helps that to which the manual refers as "counter-salvo".

And the implication of that fact, relative to the alternatives I posed, is ... ?

The defense bonus applies to all counter-salvos (cf. FOF Manual page 69) regardless of whether those come from the attacker or defender nation; they are tactical values.

Thanks!

quick question.  By giving a unit two brigade attributes that are the same, eg 2 engineers, do they both help or does it just count as one?

Hard Sarge -> RE: Brigade Attirbutes and Special Abilities (12/28/2006 1:19:08 AM)

most stack, which I believe all of the ones you have control on, do stack

(two pack wagons give you more supply, but also slow you down more)

remember, you can buy double Arty or Cav attachment and that will change the unit to that type of unit (but will take a MAJOR hit to Qu levels)

most of the skills that you can be trained in, will also be stackable, but some of them do not (double fast, will make you move better, double diggers will let you dig in better)

Wow! I must have missed that bit of news. That changes everything.

Gil R. -> RE: Brigade Attirbutes and Special Abilities (12/29/2006 7:50:49 PM)

Just remember that doing this does give the unit a major "quality" hit. In my PBEM game, I created one out of a unit with a quality of around 3.2 or so, and its quality dropped to about 1.6 (going from memory). But the corps it was in fought several battles, and now its quality is around 3.5 (or higher?) thanks to that experience.
