The game doesnt come with real rosters. You can import any year from the Lahman database though. I dont know if thats been updated with the 2006 stats yet though. I dont think it has.

Yes the stats have been updated for 2006.  However the players need a little editing as the players who spent time on the DL or were call-ups tend to be off.  IE: Kerry Wood velocity is rated as 1 on the 1-10 scale.  Prior is rated as a 4 or 5 for velocity on the 1-10 scale. ect, ect, ect.

You'll also find players on what you think of as "the wrong" teams, because they are assigned to the team they spent the majority of their innings/at bats with.

So, for example, Joe Smith played for the Indians from April to July, accumulating 200 at bats, and was then traded to the Padres, where he got 150 at bats before injuring his arm and missing the rest of the season.

He'd been traded for Tom Minors, who had been playing for the Padres' AAA club, but was called up to the Indians in September, amassing 67 at bats.

When you imported that season, you would find both Smith and Minors on the Indians, not the Padres - which is neither the opening-day roster or the close-of-season roster for either team.

I don't think anybody other than Diamond Mind Baseball does that form of import correctly, and their business model has you pay for each season you want to play.

Oh, p.s., posting your title in all-caps is a bit rude, somewhat like shouting. [;)]

You're welcome. No worries, it happens all the time. [:)]

I hope the answers were to your liking and you're still considering buying the game.

If you really want the 'I'm the manager, managing every game of a (specific) real season' experience, that's Diamond Mind Baseball's strength. What it doesn't offer is the general-manager, team-building, and history-over-time aspects of the sport that PureSim does.

In DMB, you can re-play 1952 very accurately.

In PureSim, you can re-play 1952 with a good but not perfect degree of accuracy... but then carry the same players, histories, budgets and lineups into 1953, '54, and beyond, with the teams diverging from their historical counterparts. It gives you a lot of "What if" scenarios.

The strongest aspect of PureSim though, has to be the developer; you'll see him on the forum frequently, posting responses to queries, and fixing bugs.

Ruiz,

Go to the Team Home screen, Select BallPark and then "import ballpark". From there navigate to the location of the saved ball park images you downloaded and select the one you want. That's all there is to it.

Ruiz - Also look at the file called "How To Install These Files" included in the download.  It's in the modern day ballpark set and should be in the others.

Thanks for downloading my PureSim 2007 Park Files.  To install, unzip the files & follow these steps:

1) Launch PureSim 2007
2) Go to the "Front Office" for the team you want to assign a new Ballpark to.
3) Click on the "Ball Park" link on the menu on the left of the window.
4) Click on the "Modify Ballpark" button.
5) Click on the "Import" button.
6) Select the appropriate .PRK file and you are done!

Enjoy the photo, park affects and animation settings.
