A smaller scenario was actually exactly what I was thinking of. After browsing around the internet last night and catching up with what the Harpoon community's been up to these last few years I found the Europe-88 project, which was along the lines of what I was thinking except they seemed to be fighting an entire European war. I found Nick Moran's (thanks for the jog on the name) exercise to be much more interesting and realistic...a small scale regional conflict that used a combined TACOP's/Harpoon approach. Here's the official AAR from the battle: http://www.tacopshq.com/MBX/Brunei/index.html I participated in this CPX when I was still a mid at the Academy, ironically a couple years after I graduated I had the opprotunity to visit Brunei for a few weeks while doing some counter-terrorism training with their navy. I thought it was ironic that I immediately recognized the towns and the topography and their Naval OOB from a computer CPX I participated in when I was a kid! At the time I was responsible for inventing the weather. :O) I would personally love to run something like this and I'd have fun designing it, but I don't have nearly the time, TACOPS knowledge or wargaming knowledge to do so to the satisfaction of the participants. I'd def. assist someone else though.
