I'm attempting to reduce Chinese supplies by bombing their airbases. Has anyone got any idea how much damage an airbase supply hit does?

Is it a fixed amount or a percentage and how much?

I asked this question a few days ago, and it seems each "hit" is a percentage.  So if you get Airbase Supply hit 5, you damaged 5% of the supplies.

1% of the current supply total per port supply/airbase supply hit

Thanks guys. I've been wondering about this for ages - don't know how I came to miss the Alanschu posted.

5 hits isn't really a 5 % loss.  It's actually (# Supply points)*0.99*0.99*0.99*0.99*0.99.  In this case, if there were 10000 points, 5 supply hits would cause a 490 point loss, not 500.  It becomes significant over time.

Each supply hit causes a 1% reduction, and each hit is calculated separately.

Just as important. Every unit in the hex has its supply consumption doubled for a turn or two. Airbases must be repaired which uses supply. damaged unit elements must be repaired/replaced which uses supply.

So in practice bombardments can burn off a lot more supply then the paltry 1% per supply hit might suggest.

Indeed......

bombardments.....infantry attacks.....and air attacks oh MY!

(I've had one of my important bases under siege go from 24,000 to 7000 supply in under two weeks)

When you suffer 20+ base hits and 250 runway hits per day...then it really starts to hurt !! [8D]
