Intresting web-site: Ed's Nike Missle Site
This guy has tons of information on Nike ADA Missile sites.
But the cool thing is his Google Earth placemarks: (find it in here)
You can see Nike Missle site ringing most major US cities. A lot of them are near urban areas, one just a few miles from me. Most are dismantled now or being used for other purposes.
