I wanted to use the setup of the "Uncommon Valor" scenario together with the increased difficulty of "Arsenal of Democracy" and made a corresponding modification, a merge of the two scenarios. I thought this might be interesting for others as well and thus I'll explain what to do.

All you need to do is to download this file (12 KB) and to extract it to the /dat/ folder of your main AWD directory. [:)]

One file will be added (wawgoldregions39aod+uv.txt) and one overwritten (wawgoldscenario.txt - there should be a confirmation dialogue for that), so you might want to make a manual backup of wawgoldscenario.txt first.

To get rid of the modification, simply delete wawgoldregions39aod+uv.txt and replace wawgoldscenario.txt with your backup (or delete the last three lines at the bottom of the file).

So, what does this merged scenario contain exactly?

Basically it is the "Arsenal of Democracy" scenario with the victory points and auto-victory limits of "Uncommon Valor". Additionally I was generous to the Allies regarding the troops they start with: Whenever there were forces present in one of the scenarios, I added them to the merged scenario. E.g. in the last patch there were troops moved from Scotland to Malta for the UV scenario, these troops exist both in Scotland and Malta in my scenario. In total these are only a dozen units though, most of them militias and transport fleets.

The AoD+UV scenario is meant to be played as the Axis against an Allied AI of course. [;)]

The scenario loads and works fine, however I didn't have the time to see how the AI copes with it.

I was thinking about doing the same thing. Thanks GKar.
