dth -> Replacing An Item In Force Editor? (2/24/2007 11:54:19 PM)

Does anyone know how I can change one type of item in a force to another without having to go back and manual remove the old item and re-enter the new one into all 500 units in the force? If there is an easier way, please let me know.

It may be possible to shortcut this by use the OOB import/export feature;

a) open the OOB in the editor
b) hit F4 and select a location for the OOB dump
c) open the dump file in wordpad or some other basic text editor.
d) use "replace all" with the names of the two equipment types and be sure to get the spelling exactly right.
e) open the OOB in the editor again
f) hit F5 and import the modified file

If you have an error, try exporting the OOB again and then importing it without changes. If that works, you did something wrong. If it doesn't, you have to go the old fashioned way.

Many, Many Thanks golden delicious! I'll give it a try and let you know if that worked
