Where does it fit forum-wise? I see it not. I'm thinking it might make for a good game; sort of a Civ substitute.

Nevermind, it's in a forum where it isn't the first name in the bunch.

Helps that the price is quite reasonable too...

Ah, I hadn't seen a price.

Nice price. [:)] I have just downloaded it. It shares a forum with Gates of Troy and Spartan although the forum is very sparse at the moment. Look for current games, Gates of Troy.

Best wishes,

It would need to be considering that the game is both rather long in the tooth and that (very) cheap box copies are still easily obtainable, at least in the UK.

Odd choice, really. I would have thought Legion Arena/Cult of Mithras would have done a lot better. Maybe Matrix will publish those next?

That one is coming too [;)]

This is what they mean by re-releasing games they think are good.  I'd never heard of this game before [:o]  It has a demo an only 20 beans.  Looks like it might be a swell game.  Ima try it. I'll teach those stupid babylonians a lesson.

shunwick -> RE: Chariots of War (2/28/2007 10:41:40 PM)

Yes, it may be "long in tooth" but I have never seen it before so it's as "fresh as a daisy" to me.

I am not a huge fan of this sort of game. I don't really think of them as wargames but as empire building games. I was attracted to it by the price and by the fact that I have more than a passing interest in the military history of the earliest empires. I don't think its going to teach me much about Sargon of Akkad or the Third Dynasty of Ur but it looks like an interesting diversion nevertheless.

Best wishes,

I actually missed that one too. I going to set it up next week. Laying the manual out made me really interested in the game.

I bought the dambed thing.  I like it.  I been really interested in that time frame lately been reading Josephus.

Fascinating era. Most of the Ancient World research centred around the Ancient Egyptians - one of the most pointless empires in history. It's opening up now to include the more interesting empires.

Best wishes,

Fascinating era.

Isn't it sad so much written about it was lost [:(]  We could know so much more about it had ppl not been so careless [:@] damb I wish we knew more.

shunwick -> RE: Chariots of War (3/1/2007 9:27:57 AM)

Very sad.

Best wishes,
