In the last 3 days Japan has had 2 BBs hit by torpedoes and 1 BB hit byt a mine so the relative surface combat odds are rapidly improving.


SACORSAIR has massed multiple AK/AP convoys and BB/CA surface TFs and CVL TFs at Brunei and Kuching so something big is about to come online. Additional transport TFs are spotted crossing the South China Sea towards Allied bases to the west and southwest. It looks like too big of an operation for Singkawang or Pontianak.....possibly an assault on Palembang. Allied naval bombers redeploy to deal with the threat.
