Drafting in CE Release 2 (Full Version)

I may be blind. I may be stupid. So forgive me and please point out the obvious to me.

I'm using CE Release 2. I finished the season and went to the new season. Saw the new draft screen and loved it. I said "Pick until my team" or whatever the wording is and the game stopped AFTER picking for my team. That doesn't sound right.

I then went pick by pick. When it was my team's turn I didn't see a button to allow me to make the pick. I had to let the computer make the pick.

Obviously I am missing something. Could someone please tell me what I'm missing.

Also, in the old draft method, if I only wanted to draft in 2 rounds I could skip the rest of the draft. I didn't see any way to do that here. Can you?

When I chose "pick until my team", another screen would pop up so I could sort and/or filter (as before) and I could find the player I wanted.  Pick until my team never chose a player for me.  This was with a new league.  I haven't tried it with a current running league, yet.

The league I'm using it with is a league I started before the CE version.

It shouldn't pick for you and I have never seen it do this. Are you sure the team is human-controlled? The actual screen where you make the pick will pop up when it is your pick and it works excatly like the old draft screen, with the addition of showing players marked as "favorites" in red.

The league is 7 seasons old and my team is definetly human controlled. I'll watch carefully in the next season start to see if it happens again. Now that I know what to look for, I'll pay close attention to what's going on.

Okay, new season. Same thing with the draft. I get no pop up window when it's my team's turn to draft. If I choose pick until my turn the game stops after the pick for my team with no pop up window. Something is strange.

Any ideas Shaun?

I'm having the same issue--during the draft, I hit draft to human team and the computer picks for my team and then the draft stops one pick after my team.

Is it possible to enter the draft while still in "Run in Unattended Mode"? Wondering if that's what happened.

This happened to me when I was playing with real players. Entering the 2007 season it drafted the players for me, all pitchers because it thought I needed them. I don't mind when it drafts for me in past years, where it just takes over and picks the players for me that already were on my team, but it wouldn't let me have control of the draft. I just tried one of the ready made templates included and the draft worked fine, so I don't know if it is just with real players.

Yes--real player league and my team gets skipped.  Seems to be working fine with a fictional league.

Thanks guys! I found and fixed this bug this morning. I am doing a little more testing and will release a little patch today.

You were right, it was only a bug when using real players. Sorry if it caused you a lot of grief [:(]
