dayrinni -> Replacement question (3/4/2007 9:44:55 PM)

I know there is a big website that explains how this works but I just want a simple answer :)

Generally, for most units, do they receive a fair amount of replacements each turn? Example, in the fite as the Germans I am getting beat up pretty bad but whenever I check my units it seems the heavy rifle squads are in the 75-90 range...when they previously lost around 30% of them.

Thanks!

I guess an easier way to ask is: on average, what is the general range of replacements per unit? 5-20 heavy rifle squads?

ok, there is not a simple answer..
if your units are in the BEST of supply situations, and they are in need of replacement, and they are not other "higher" priority units that get all your reps for hte turn,
AND their are replacement sqds in the HOME BANK, my term, then you will recieve the max amount of reps.
Take as an example my very depleted armies..early german Spring 42.. The first reps go to, SS then I am not sure, but you are influnced by weather or not you move, are in supply and if troops are avail.. you will get to a pointas the German that there just are not enough reps to meet the growing needs! Good luck

In TOAW, units with higher replacement priority don't get their replacements first, they just get more of what they need.

The replacements system is pretty complicated. There's a detailed article on it here;

hello gd, I think we are saying the same thing, If I am looking at a regular army infantry unit, and a simular ss unit with priority, or guards etc.. they both will get some, but the FIRST and most goes to the priority as these are parcelled out per turn.. no?

From one slightly confused gamer to another:

It seems that you get more of your shortfall for any equiment if:
1/ There are lots of it in store
2/ There are not many other units needing it
3/ You have a high supply state
4/ You have a high priority as set by hte scenario.

There is almsot no chance you will ever get all of your shortfall unless it's a very small number - like single digits!

Provided the unit is in supply in the first place, I don't think 3) affects replacements.

See the article I linked to. In most circumstances, both units will get replacements- even if this means leaving the higher priority unit with a shortfall. But the unit with higher priority will get more replacements in proportion to the amount of equipment which is needed.
