When you enter a detailed battle, how the heck do you

1. Know in a general direction where the enemy troops are (I understand it can't be exact but when I start in the middle of the battlefield it would be nice to know a general direction march in.)

2. What the specific victory points are that I can capture to defeat the enemy?

I am sure these are two things that are obvious that I am just missing.

Thanks for the help!

1) the enemy are aways in the opposite side to where you deploy. so if your attacking they will be below you. where along that line is part of the challange of the detailed combat.

2) not all battles have victory locations - check the top left hand courner, if it says 0/3 then look for stars on the map where your enemy is. if there are none, then the only way to win is to break the enemy.

Thank you!

If you have a balloon attribute or two, that can help find the enemy.

As of the beta update, Cavalry with the Scouts attribute are also quite useful. I generally try to have at least one cavalry brigade, which I send out looking for the enemy army at the start of a detailed battle while I deploy my infantry and artillery. Cavalry can generally find the enemy and avoid a fight while keeping an eye on where they are heading.
