LU's still appearing at the start even with the button being 'Off' in all 3 scenarios.

The button has to be on in order for the LUs not to show up. Also, it won't remove LUs that the scenario designer has specified should appear, only those that would be auto-generated by the game.

That's what I mean, the Off Button is On!!! [8|] I'll check and see if I have it right. Could be I don't, since I have been hopping in and out of the game and etc.

Thanx, Chris

Unfortunately, I have the 'No Legendary Units at start' box checked and they showed up in a game. I have Bill Amos' files in the July 1861 Scenario folder and did not overwrite them when I updated with the new v1.9.4 patch. That is all I can think of that might be doing this, so I will yank Bill Amos' mod files, copy the original v1.23 patched files back into the July 1861 scenario folder, and udate the game again with the new v1.9.4 patch.

It's really no biggie to me, because I like some of the vanilla LU's, but there are many I don't like, especially at the start of the game. I guess I can eventually mod this as I want to in the future.

It's easy to mod the LU file if you don't want any LUs to appear in the game ever -- maybe we can include a version of this on our downloads page.  I'll put this on my list.

Hi, and thanx. I can live with and actually enjoy some of the LU's appearing later in the game, but not at the start, however, a few at the start is OK for me too, just not a whole bunch.

Can I simply change the names of LU's, their place and times of appearance and what abilities they have through simple replacemtn text in a word processor?? And if I don't want a particular LU at all can I somewhow just type in a cancel code for that LU's lines in the file, or simply delete that LU?? I remember that in Medieval Total War the cancel/ignore line code was a '/' if I remember correctly.

You can change abilities and attributes easily by modding their file, but not times of appearance. (We haven't programmed LU's to appear at historically accurate times, though we might do that if there were demand for it.)

As for how to remove specific units, Eric will have to explain that.

Thanx for telling me that, as it is what I thought could be done. As far as the random appearances go, that is OK too, because it does add a nice surprise every now and then.

In my last 2 CSA games, Kentucky has come in on the side of the CSA since I as the CSA stay out of kentucky, but the Stae is usualy overrun quickly by the USA and i get only a few units added to my main CSA armies. However, I leave garrisons so the USA has to besiege them and take casualties. Both times I have conscripted in Kentucky I always recieved the Orphan Bde., which is a nice addition to the main CSA forces. I like that particular LU!! Plus I actually had both Breckinridge and Helm as Gens. [:)]

When Kentucky joins the CSA, as long as the CSA can hold a couple-few provinces for a long time, even without any of the 3 cities in Kentucky, then this is a good additonal flow of supplies for the CSA, coupled with snatching southern MO provinces and Kansan Neosho province.
