dpazuk -> Commander's Land Rating Bug (3/25/2007 6:05:32 PM)

I have encountered the Leader land rating bug when splitting up and then reforming a division. (playing the latest patch)

Is there anyway of avoiding this bug other than not splitting up a unit in the first instance?

He probably means this. Fixed in 1.804, I believe.

Yup:

Note that v1.8.0.4 incremental production release includes the following changes:

Item 1 - Correct LCU leader handling upon LCU divide. Was causing land_experience to be increased to invalid levels. Fixed.

It has not been fixed, or at least if it has been fixed, it is most certainly broken once again [:(] I am using the latest patch vs. the AI. No modifications other than of a graphical nature (map, icons and combat graphics).

Basically, I had a Division (1st Marine Division, if memory serves) and divided it. Upon recombining it, the land rating of the original leader of the division multiplies by as much as 3 times its original value.

In my case, the leaders land rating went from approximately 60 to 181 after recombining the division.

Against the A.I. it is not really that big of a deal, I just changed out the leader. I do have other divisions that I have split and I do not want to recombine them for fear of bugging some very good land leaders (Vandegrift, in one case).

I was wondering if there was a work around for this. I recall reading a post on this a few months back but cannot seem to find it. The link posted above came up lame for me [:(]

I have also posted this in the bug forum. This was not meant as a cross post, so please be gentle with me [&o]
