Flash player 9 ??

Longstreet_slith -> RE: white image in the presentation screen (3/26/2007 3:53:52 PM)

Can someone help me in the installation of Flash player on my game computer? It is not connected to the Internet and therefore I need a downloadable version to transfer over on a USB stick. I don't seem to see how to do this on the Adobe Flash download page. Is it possible?

Thanks,
Longstreet

Maulet -> RE: white image in the presentation screen (3/31/2007 2:25:09 PM)

The adobe flash version that I have Installed is : "You have version 9,0,28,0 installed", then I understand I have the last version and the image continuous being white as this:

MadMike -> RE: white image in the presentation screen (4/2/2007 3:29:39 PM)

Maulet,

Did you rename the "movies" folder in the FoF directory to "nomovies" to save processing resources?

That's the exact screen I get when I use "nomovies", and it works fine if I rename back to "movies".

Cheers,
MadMike

Erik Rutins -> RE: white image in the presentation screen (4/2/2007 5:06:50 PM)

Try also updating Shockwave, it seems that's necessary for some as well.

Maulet -> RE: white image in the presentation screen (4/2/2007 9:33:53 PM)

@Erik: I have installed shockwave 10 and white screen continous being the same.

@Madmike: my folder in fof directory is "video", no "movies". And this "video" folder is named "video", not "novideo".

I haven't movies folder.

MorningDew -> RE: white image in the presentation screen (4/2/2007 11:39:44 PM)

Rename the "no movies" folder to movies.

I repeat [:D], I haven't this folder: no movies. It doesn't appear in my tree of Fof.

ericbabe -> RE: white image in the presentation screen (4/3/2007 2:41:13 PM)

Maulet, go to the folder Movies and find the file Intro.swf.  Try opening this file with your Internet browser.  If you have the Flash stuff properly installed, it should play the intro in your browser.

2 things:

1-I can see intro.swf in my browser (firefox 2.0), no problem playing the intro.

2-I haven't folder movies. I have folder video where I have intro.swf, credits.swf,etc, etc ( I have repeated this 3 times [:D] ).

edit: perhaps the problem is that my browser is firefox and not explorer??

ericbabe -> RE: white image in the presentation screen (4/3/2007 10:16:40 PM)

Ooops, yes, it is called Video.  Hmmmm -- if it's playing in Firefox (I use Firefox too) then off the top of my head I'm not sure why it's not playing in-game for you.

Perhaps the full path name to the file is too long; what is the full path name of your game directory?

It's very short:

C:\jocs\fof\video, for folder video , and c:\jocs\fof , for normal path where is the exe

ericbabe -> RE: white image in the presentation screen (4/4/2007 12:15:56 AM)

Those are very short, not the problem.

What's your operating system?

It may be that you are missing the ActiveX Control somehow, though this should be installed with the regular Flash Player installer.  Please do a file search over your whole harddrive for a file called Flash*.ocx.  I have the file "C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash8.ocx".  Missing this file (or a similar one) might explain why it plays in Firefox but not in FOF (which uses the ActiveX control).

Or, hmmm, maybe you have a virus-checker-type-program that is disabling ActiveX controls??

I have the file flash.ocx in the same folder that you.

But not flash8, without 8: ...macromed\flash\flash.ocx

My antivirus is nod32 and I haven't marked any option for disable activeX. And my OS is win XP.

I have several : Flash6.ocx, Flash8.ocx, Flash9b.ocx at that location.

ericbabe -> RE: white image in the presentation screen (4/4/2007 4:35:24 AM)

Maulet, it seems to be that you don't have a recent enough version of the ActiveX Control for the Flash.  This control should be added with the Flash Player 9 installer.  If you haven't tried re-installing Flash 9, I'd suggest trying that:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

Maulet -> RE: white image in the presentation screen (4/5/2007 1:34:38 AM)

I have re-installed flash player and the white image appears again. Flash adobe web said me that I have installed the last version.

ericbabe -> RE: white image in the presentation screen (4/5/2007 4:41:13 PM)

Hmmmm, maybe you don't have the ActiveX stuff installed on your system?  I'm not sure how to search for this to figure out whether that's there or not, and I don't know right now where to get that.

Barrold -> RE: white image in the presentation screen (4/8/2007 6:56:50 PM)

Slightly different problem, but I noticed that when I had a container at no supply and right clicked on the supply icon, the paragraph explaining foraging showed up with white on white text.
