Just purchased FOF (the Download) but am unable to pull up either the game manual or manual appendix in Adobe Reader 8.0. The hourglass just shows for a few seconds then...poof - nothing!

Any thoughts on what might be going on?

Try Foxit at http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php.  It's a free pdf reader and many times faster than Adobe's bloated software.  It might be that the new reader (8.0) has some problems with some *.pdfs.

I'd try Foxit, and if you can read the pdf with that then you know it's the software.

I assume your Adobe installation must be somehow messed up - it opens fine here with Acrobat 8.0. Glad you got it working with Foxit though.
