First i shall apologize for my very poor English spelling, but i hope it is readable.

Hello

Me and a Friend, is playing Japan vs an US Opponent, in the CHS 160.

We are currently in the beginning of the war (13 January 1942), and have taken and secured, Midway Is, Wake Is, Hong Kong, Christmas Is, Plymera Is, Society Is, Baker Is, Cook Is, Rabaul, Lee, Guadacanal Is, Admirality Is, New Guinea, most of Malaya, most of Mindano, most of Borneo, north part of Phillipines, and are about to take Rangoon.

We have made alot of theoris, calculations and estimations on both Military and Economic Policys.
However, many of this theories and doctrines, are untested and new to the world, and we would for this reason appriciate others opinions on a few of them.

As you may understand, we can unfortunately not reveale them, as our opponent also is a user of this forum, so we will ask for your advice in a little different way.

1) Jake. It has a better bombload than the rest of the float planes, and the same range in ASW search mode as the Alf.

2) Again, the Jake. I dont use Jap bombers for ASW work, they have other things to do.

3) The single best sub killer for Japan is the APD. They have an ASW strength of 8. I form 2 TFs of these and use them to kill subs. I also form somewhere around 20 ASW TFs from 5 PGs each and base them with my Jake squadrons.

1) Depends on the mission. Standard deployment, I use 3 CVs and 1 CVL, 2 fast BBs, 1 Tone class CA, 4 CAs, and 5 DDs as my standard carrier TF (I have 2 of these). If I am expecting contact with enemy CVs, I break this in half making 4 TFs. Actually 5 with the other TF of CVLs I have.

2) I operate the minelayers in 1 TF (I-121 to I-124). I use the Glen equipped boats as recon into areas I want to know whats there that are either beyond Emily range or at the very edge of it. The rest I operate in 3 sub TFs of the same class ship.

1, 2, 4) The maximum altitude they can fly. Aircraft attacking ships take AA fire twice. Once on approach (at their assigned altitude thus the reason to be up high) and once at their mission altitude. Regardless of their assigned altitude, TBs armed with torps bomb at 200 feet. Dive bombers and bomb equipped fighters bomb at 2000 feet. So no reason not to come in up high.

3) Depends on the defenses. If I really want to smack a target hard and dont care about the losses, I hit at 1000 to 5000 feet. Normally 10,000 to 15,000 feet.

Edit: I read the question wrong. I thought #3 was what altitude do I attack land bases at.

Aggressions and inspiration are always important.

1) Tony is the best, but I personally do not build a lot of them. I use the Tojo as my main fighter (in a PDU game of course). The Tojo uses Nakajima engines and converts to the Frank in 44.

2) I only build Dinahs for recon work.

3) Transoprts I use 3 mainly. Topsy, the Mavis transport, and the Tabby. Topsy because it is the best Army transport. Tabby because it is the best transport the Japs have period, but in most scenarios the Army squadrons cant equip them (scen 16 you can), and I keep 2 or 3 squadrons of Mavis Ls because they are floatplanes and dont need an airfield.
