Woos -> How to pursue without shocking (4/12/2007 4:32:10 PM)

Maybe this is long known but at least I was a bit surprised when I saw this:

You can get this by commanding the unit to shock attack with pursue and then command another unit to deliberate attack and click "Set All to Attack" on that second unit. Seems the "Make all units do a deliberate attack" routine does not reset the "pursue" flag.

Now one could of course say that this is a feature since I always wondered why the attacker has to walk while the defender is teleported.....

*edit: fixed the wrongly spelled pursue*

You can't pursue without shock attacking. That's it and that's that...

Well, then you can surely explain, why the unit shown above ended up in the same hex as the retreating enemy units in the next turn? Did it find some friends between the enemies and wanted to stay with them? Were traffic signs turned in the wrong direction during the withdrawal? Did Allied intelligence miss the latest IJA invention, the portable wormhole?

If they followed, they shocked...regardless of settings, shock happens in persuit, river-crossing and atoll.
