I was wondering, if you get a manual with the box version.

Hi LRRP

Not at this time but in the upcoming weeks we hope to be able to change this.

David

So, if I order the download+box version, I will not get a printed manual later? If not I have a copy of my old TOA manual around somewhere, would it be sufficient to get me up to speed again, seeing I have not played the game in over 8 years.

All versions come with a .pdf manual, which is a substantially reworked version of the Century of Warfare manual. There are many changes throughout it, from the previous versions of TOAW. Since release dozens of changes were incorporated in the patches. The patches are cumulative, as well as the "Whatsnew" document, which details the change history. They are all good reading, if I do say so myself...[;)]

Other documents can be found in the Windows Start Menu items under "Documentation" and there are several tutorials included with the game. Plenty to help you smooth out that learning (or in your case re-learning) curve.

As Dave said, Matrix plans on having the printed manual available soon, and when we have the specifics on the how's and when's, for both new buyers, and existing owners, we'll let you know.

Hi, I got the download version of TOAW III, with Acrobat 8 installed, but can't open the manual at all.  I have some experience with the system, but I am by no way an expert at it.  Possible bad download?

The basic structure of the game is the same. A pre-TOAW III printed manual will teach you the main mechanics of the game but will be lousy on some of the specifics.
