If this is what I think it is, it's an incomplete campaign written by Roland Rahn for an older version of the game. I used to have it, but not anymore. As I recall, it needed a lot of work.

Roland is still around I believe, perhaps you can reach him thru the spwaw depot.

Operation DOWNFALL is in Falcon’s SPWAW Vanilla Campaign Compilation v2.1 which you can download from LINK.

It's a 47~ MB ZIP.

Thank you for the link fmphil!

The main site appears to be here:
http://alternatewars.com/Games/SP/SPanthers.htm

And I found some treasures there. First there is the SPWW2 version 2.07 which is probably the best DOS version dating back to when Matrix Games and Camo Workshop guys were still working together.
http://alternatewars.com/Games/SP/SPCAMO/SPWW2_v2-07_Installer.zip
The installer runs from Windows but to run the game you need DOSBox and the original SP2 or SP3 CD.
edit: There are also patches 2.2 and 2.2b but I found that they caused some problems. With 2.2 I had some graphical glitches. And 2.2b removed mines from the scenarios.

Also I found the early 3.0b version of SPWAW here:
http://alternatewars.com/Games/SP/SPWAW/SPWAW_v3-0_B23_Installer.zip
That is interesting to take a look at too and study how the oobs and game mechanics have changed over the years.

EDIT
The SPWAW 3.0.23b installer has a bug in it that causes some files to be placed in the main game directory instead of their appropriate folders.

These files include:
- 2 sound files (1023.wav & 1024.wav) that should be in the \SND -folder.
- 64 Campaign files that should be in the \Campaigns -folder.
- 107 unit pictures (.lbm) that should be in the \PIC -folder.
- 18 graphics files (.shp) that belong in the \SHP folder.

Attached is a batch file that when run in the main folder of SPWAW 3.0.23b will move the files to their correct folders. To be able to run the batch file just copy the text into notepad and then save it as a .cmd or .bat file.
Or you can just study the text file and then manualy move the files to their correct folders.

One more thing to note is that SPWAW 3.0.23b only starts from spwaw.exe or the autorun program. It will not start directly from mech.exe like the later versions.

Sorry about that.

I changed the link from

www.alternatewars.com/Games/SPanthers/
to
www.alternatewars.com/Games/SP/

to economize on link space as I plan on adding a SP Icon database.

Doh! I did not realize that it was your website my apologies.

Great collection you have there. I am very thankful especially for SPWW2 v.2.07 since I had lost that game and now I got it back! [8D]

It is a very interesting version since it has a crew that then split up to develop SPWAW and the other team ofcourse continued to develop SPWW2 & WinSWW2. It is the closest thing to a DOS version of SPWAW.

I never really liked the later versions of SPWW2 since the combat has changed so much. In SPww2 v2.07 the gameplay just feels better in my opinion.

Also it was very informative to study the OOB files in SPWAW v.3.0b. It seems that alot of the data values were better in those 3.0b oob's. In SPWAW v.4.5 the oob's have alot of invalid values for range finders and stabilizers for example that can cause game play issues.

Actualy studying the OOB files that come with v.3.0b they might even be from version 1.0 and 2.0 of the game and this would probably explain why they are so clean.

At some point during the development of SPWAW the oob team started put in all sorts of values for the different data fields and this eventualy lead to the messy oob files that the later official versions of the game have.

With SPWAW 8.403 a new OOB edtior was released that has options to correct these invalid data values and in the Enhanced mod (and SPWAW 2016) oob's they have corrected these data errors but it was interesting to see that the 3.0b oobs were still quite clean compared to the later versions.
