RULES: No looking up the answer before posting your response. Guesses only or first hand knowledge. I will post my source later so you cannot get a clue from the title.

Fort Stotsenburg (the alias of a popular WitP site) is located where?

a) Singapore
b) Rabaul
c) Guam
d) Clark
e) Brisbane

Feinder -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/15/2007 9:54:38 PM)

I guess B!

(* see how much he likes people answering his trivia questions before they're even posted yet! *)

Phhhttt.

I still guess B. It "sounds" German. And wasn't Rabaul part of a German protectorite prior to WW1? Japan got it as a concession?

Seeadler -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/15/2007 9:57:30 PM)

D

USSAmerica -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/15/2007 10:05:35 PM)

B - because it looks quite "tropical"

Vetamur -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/15/2007 10:08:20 PM)

Rabaul wasnt part of the Concession..

but Im still going with B as well..

niceguy2005 -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/15/2007 10:13:27 PM)

I am going with D because it sounds like an American fort to me. Plus a fort being built in the PI in 1902 would make sense. I'm completely guessing that's what the numbers at the bottom of the pillar signify, but it could be just an address or something.[8|]

Terminus -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/15/2007 10:18:05 PM)

I'm gonna go with "e" just to be contrary...[;)]

EDIT: Went and looked it up. I'll obviously let Knavey answer, though...

anarchyintheuk -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/15/2007 10:29:12 PM)

D. Bad juju at that installation.

Oliver Heindorf -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/15/2007 10:32:25 PM)

Clark Field - D

KDonovan -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/15/2007 11:12:17 PM)

Going with B, since it sounds German, and IIRC Rabual was once owned by the Germans pre-WWI

Dixie -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/15/2007 11:50:17 PM)

E?

Whilst it does sound German, it doesn't look overly tropical, if that makes sense.

langley -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/15/2007 11:56:30 PM)

E

Definately "D".

JamesM -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/16/2007 12:28:52 AM)

D

Honda -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/16/2007 12:34:49 AM)

Stotsenburg looks more like Dutch than German to me. And "Fort" is used in German only to describe those constructions enclosed by palisades that have the U.S. Cavalry inside and hordes of howling indians in warpaint on horses outside. What is called a fort in English would be called "Festung" in German.

RUPD3658 -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/16/2007 3:32:48 AM)

A-since no one else guessed it.

aztez -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/16/2007 6:34:15 AM)

B

bradfordkay -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/16/2007 7:08:04 AM)

Definitely D.

Ian R -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/16/2007 7:12:54 AM)

D

trojan58 -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/16/2007 8:15:24 AM)

B

sanch -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/16/2007 9:22:02 AM)

E - cause I've read enough about the history of the other places - and I don't recall any of them saying anything about this fort.

Local Yokel -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/16/2007 1:36:58 PM)

C - Because it's the outcast no-one else has picked.  Also, '1902' suggests a date shortly after the Spanish-American War, through which I think the US acquired Guam.

And the Philipines... [;)]

(* shrug *)

I really don't know tho.

Andrew Brown -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/16/2007 5:13:40 PM)

Not Singers. Definitely not Rabaul or Brisbane. Being entirely ignorant of Philippine architecture I am going to have to toss a coin.....

...Guam (C)?

niceguy2005 -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/16/2007 7:51:05 PM)

Now that I have guessed AND THEN googled it, when do we get the official answer? I would like to hear what others have to say about the fort.

Mynok -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/16/2007 8:07:34 PM)

Clark.

DSwain -> RE: TRIVIA #2 (5/16/2007 8:40:46 PM)

I'm going to go with B due to the German connection
