Is there some way of getting the effects of NikMod (or the milder version seen in CHS 2.0.8 159-160) without messing with durability?

I use BigB Mod. I think he altered the weapon stats rather than the a/c durability. A2A combat is less bloody than stock.
Given the 'issues' raised with the NikMod approach I've put it to one side for now.

NM alters both weapon stats and DUR along with other stuff.

I am playing CHS 158 which is a Grand Campaign NikMod and have seen no problems at all. I just did a check and found the following

All data from fighters left on CAP for more than one month in quiet sectors. Numbers are %Cap and #disabled/# total

Tojo (87 dur) 60% 7/36, 30% 3/36, 70% 0/12
Tony (93 dur) 80% 20/36, 10% 0/36
Zero (75 dur) 10% 0/27, 20% 0/27, 60% 3/27
Nate (72 dur) 90% 9/36

All had adequate aviation support EXCEPT the 80% Tony which was in a base with insufficient support.

Nikademus -> RE: NikMod (5/24/2007 5:55:13 PM)

not suprising. The bug is not consistant and doesnt impact all fighter groups in the same way. Some get hit mildly, some hard, some not at all. Larger groups 'tend' to get hit more and during my investigation i found Allied groups tended to get hit more often than Japanese. DUR, suprisingly, was not a prime factor (i.e. the higher the DUR the more it happened...for example i had a Nick group in a test set that wasn't impacted at all and it's DUR was over 100)

FYI....A CHS 157/158 converted to NM 9.1 has been sent to Andrew who will be uploading it shortly. So no more 8.0 issue.
