Yes, Matrix don't have an "upgrade" option from digital download version to boxed copy when available...something I've asked for for quite some time.
Normally, they try and get the boxed version ready within a day or two anyway...normally.
I think it's fair the way it is, although if they offered an upgrade option, I wouldn't cry. The way it is, the people who only want digital download get it on release. That keeps them happy. Some people don't want a manual or disk, and so why should they wait.
I like my printed manuals, so generally (now) I will wait for the boxed versions...it is only a matter of days generally speaking...but I understand your frustration when everyone is posting screen shots and saying how awesome this or that is....
