Sorry to repeat issues that seem to have come up with other games, but I notice that, at the moment, there is only the option to "Digitally Download" Carriers at War. Will the option for the Physically Shipped Printed manual/cd version be available soon?

If I go for the download now, will I be able to buy the physically shipped manual/cd later, just by paying the "difference" or will I have to pay the full price of everything again, just to get the physical shipment?

I'm sorry if someone has asked before.

Thanks for the help

Martin

The boxed version should be available soon.  No idea if you can pay the difference or not.

Whats going on here, what I am reading is problems all over the place. How do you order the cd and the manuel in a box? Do not trust digital downloads, and is there a printed manuel?

Ok...here's the deal.

Matrix games generally have a "Digital Download and Physical Copy" on the store a few days after the digital download has been up. They aren't "holding back" the physical copy, simply that they are releasing the digital download as soon as it's ready,, rather than holding that back.

If anyone wants a printed manual, then they have to wait until the physical option is available (generally a couple of days or so).

It's not to punish people who want a physical copy...it's actually done this way to NOT hold up people who don't want a physical copy or printed manual.

There are no problems "all over the place". The physical copy will be ready within a day or two I expect.

as for digital download, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a digital download from Matrix Games and Digital River. It's fast, smooth and painless. There is no third party software to download and no "secret" things going on behind the scenes. I would heartily recommend DD if you've got a half decent connection and speed and if yuou are not fussed about having a nice box and manual!

Thanks for the clarification Judge. Incidentally, I wasn't having a moan. I just wasn't sure what I should do.  I have no problems with Matrix policy and my query only arose for me because I'd not bought anything since the printed manuals were introduced this year.

Incidentally, if anybody can tell me how many pages the manual is, I can make a better decision.

Anyway, thanks again for the info.

Cheers

The manual is about 70 pages.

I didn't expect you were having a moan. [;)]

It's always a question I ask..."When will the physical copy be out" because I like to have a manual...most of the time.

Just passing on what I gather from various times I've asked the same question[:)]

Thanks Judge & Tony. [:)]

Now I know that the physical copy will be available tommorow, I'll just sit tight till then.

Cheers

I do not know that it will be available tomorrow. Generally speaking physical option shows up anything between 2 and 5 days after the DD option is available. It's just normally closer to the 2 than the 5.

But I do not speak for Matrix on this. It's my experience of dealing with Matrix and purchases made from them.

The official word will come from Matrix themselves. It really depends on how busy they are...and I know they are trying hard to get the Campaign Series sorted...so the physical option for this may be delayed due to that unforeseen...

Again...I'm not saying it will be here in 2 days or even 5 days...and I'm not saying it will be delayed because of the Campaign Series issue...so please don't take my word for it and then lambast Matrix for it not being an option tomorrow (and don't forget it's the weekend...they may want a break!)

I don't want to burst your bubble...but at the same time I don't want to get your hopes up by making you think I have some inside knowledge...I do not.

I've downloaded over a dozen games from Matrix. No problems, no issues. You guys that are on the fence about it should try it. All you need to do is enter your serial number after you get the game and that's it. Register the game with Matrix and they keep a record of it even if you forget it. Simple and painless.

The physical options should be available now. [8D]

Simple and painless.

I recall my dentist trying to sell me that line the last time too.

In all seriousness, Matrix's process really is smooth and straightforward. I wish more vendors offered a comparable process for their digital downloads.
