wdolson -> RE: Mystery Ship (6/9/2007 11:59:24 AM) Yup, it is the Independence.  She took a lot of damage at Bikini, though not as much as the Saratoga.  I once saw a picture of the Saratoga picked up by the wave from the blast, but I couldn't find it today when looking online.  It's sad that those grizzled vetran ships were destoryed like that. Those two guys standing on the Independence in the picture probably later died of cancer.  We didn't know as much about radiation poisoning then as we do now. Bill
