For real-player associations...the magic number seems to be calculated from the hard-wired number of schedulaed games in the association. In other words, if the association is set for 154 game schedules, but a retrosheet shifts the schedule to 162 games, it seems the magic number is still calculated for an 154 game schedule.

Along these same lines, it would be great if default 154/162 game schedules could be toggled, especially for historical associations.

this seems to have corrected itself after several seasons. however, now i'm unable to import retrosheet schedules even after manually entering the correct 3-letter abbreviations in to the .psa file. not sure if the two problems are related.
