RooseBolton -> Great Disapointment in Matrix (6/14/2007 7:28:33 PM)

Recently I bought my 5th matrix game, and the 3rd one I've downloaded. Unfortunately the download would not go through successfully, and every attempt to open or extract the files always yielded a "corrupted file" response from my PC. I tried every suggestion to solve the problem the support site sent me to no avail. Matrix with its no refund policy and won't even take the ten dollars difference to buy a CD verison. By this reasoning couldnt they send anything or nothing and claim. oops too bad better luck next purchase....sigh. So I am out 43 dollars and all patience for playing Matrix products.

Hav you tried downloading to a different location? If you just repeat the download over a corrupt file Windows can act dumb and leave the original intact and corrupted.

btw, what are you trying to download?

It sounds like a corrupted download.

If you have troubles downloading large files then we suggest you use a download client like "Stardownloader" available for free from www.stardownloader.com . It will let you resume disconnected or broken downloads. You can even pause them and resume them whenever you want.

Before you re download, I would suggest you clean your browser cache and the Windows Temp folder.
Windows sometimes can act weird with unfinished downloads. It can happen that Windows "thinks" that it has already completed the download and hence will always grab the download file from the Temp folder instead of completely redownloading.

Will get this sorted out, don't worry.

You know DAP has a free downloader as well. If you knew that what is so special about star downloader vs DAP?

RooseBolton -> RE: Great Disapointment in Matrix (6/15/2007 1:16:14 AM)

I have used the http://www.stardownloader.com/.. ive turned off anti-virus, firewalls, clear caches, and everytime it tells me the set-up application is corrupted. (on the notepad i see "Error: Verify archive integrity (103). But after almost two weeks I got nothing.

P.S. To the early question, its the "World at War, World Divided"

I have had problems with my ex ISP, Verizon w/MSN, and had to use plain old Internet Explorer to receive uncorrupted downloads. Did you use IE or Mozilla? If not it worth a chance...

Erik Rutins -> RE: Great Disapointment in Matrix (6/15/2007 1:59:45 AM)

If you're unable to download, we could absolutely "trade in" your download and upgrade you manually to the boxed version as a way of resolving this issue if it can't be resolved otherwise. It's just that we can't do that in general as it's a manual process and fairly time-consuming. E-mail me at erikr@matrixgames.com with your order number and I'll see about getting this resolved tomorrow.

Regards,

- Erik

One thing about Matrixgames, they may be pricey on some products, but, I've always noticed they try to make sure the customer gets their product. I've even seen them offer refunds in specific cases. Now, printed manuals in all new productions and older product manuals to come. Really getting quality service now. ;)

Yes, but I had hoped the manuals for older products would be available as seperate items when I initially heard of this.

But I have since understood this not to be the case and that's fine...just hoped for a manual for WitP [:(]

In lieu of a manual which gets updated with each patch, I much prefer the company of this free forum, where I can get answers from hundreds playing the same game.

Hey Judge

I am working on it but since we are on the subject let me tell you what we have coming. This will be an option only available to a customer who have already purchased a game that now has a new full color printed manual available. You must kow your serial number. Matrix will be setting up an upgrade page that a customer must enter his address, email and contact information. We must also enter his serial number and what store they purchased it from (US, EU). Once that information is entered you will be displayed a disount code as well as having it email to you with a link to go to and order a new box version of the game (Game On Demand). Each serial number will only be able to be entered once for this limited time offer.

ONE VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Our box games comes in a DVD box case with a full color insert, a full color manual and 1 or 2 CD with full color labels. These CD will NOT have your serial numbers printed on them. So you will need to write them on the CD or inside the game manual for safe keeping. PLEASE NOTE THIS CHANGE. Normally our box games have the serial numbers printed on the CD 1 but for these upgrades we can not do this. The cost will be $9.99 plus shipping and handling.

We should have this option available soon.

David

Oh and a new updated WITP full color printed manual is on the way to no ETA on that yet.

Yes, very excellent!!!

ravinhood -> RE: Great Disapointment in Matrix (6/15/2007 10:47:40 PM)

See all I do for you guys? If I hadn't been persistant practically demanding game manuals with these games you wouldn't be this happy right now. (Pats self on back) >:)~ I would like to know though from David et al have you noticed any improvement in sales volume since adding manuals to your games? Or is that top secret as well? lol

Brigz -> RE: Great Disapointment in Matrix (6/16/2007 5:35:53 AM)

Just to balance this out and give Matrix some due respect, I just downloaded Carriers at War and the 140meg plus install program was on my hard drive in about 7 minutes and I had the game up and running in about another 10 minutes. No problems whatsoever. It is my fourth game that I've purchased from Matrix using digital download and all four have downloaded, installed and worked perfectly. Not trying to be a Matrix fanboy but I'm batting a thousand so far. Something's working right.

BTW - I ordered the digital download/physical shipment option. Am I going to get a printed manual when the hard copy arrives?

The new CAW is an excellent update of the original game. I'm pleased. I hope they take it as far as the Complete Carriers at War did.

freeboy -> RE: Great Disapointment in Matrix (6/16/2007 6:10:34 AM)
