Full Auto -> I am buying the game today do I need the patch? (6/15/2007 1:05:02 AM)

Hey All,
I was going to buy the game tonight. Will I still have to download the patch? Or does the current download today (6-14) include the patch data.

Thanks,
Bob

I think you will still need the patch, I haven't seen a post stating otherwise. I would imagine the full download version that is patched will be available when the boxed version is ready to be released.

Thanks Jason,
I appreciate all of your efforts on this great game. Hats off to David H. and the Matrix crew as well.
Can I download this at work (dont tell, way faster download than at home) and copy it to my thumb drive to bring home and load up?

Thanks,
Bob

What I have read from these forums, the answer is yes.

Yes, you can, do not forget to backup the serial number email to the drive too.

The serial number can be found from the game directory too: serialreg.txt

If you buy the game today you DO NOT need the patch.  DR was giving a new gold master to use.

David,

What about that deal you or someone else mentioned where early buyers can re-download the entire corrected version with the patch included? I want to burn it to disc for backup.

Yes, as of today the DR store has been updated with a new gold master that includes the 1.01 update. This is also the gold master that will be used for the physical CDs.

For those that already downloaded, if you go to www.findmyorder.com with your order number, you should be able to re-download the new updated gold master.

Erik:

This is no problem for me per se, however for those who are extracting and burning a CD, the name of the file inside the the new "JohnTillerCampaignSeries-SetupRelease-V1DR.zip has the identical name as the older version. Only the date reflects that it has been changed. (Maybe this should be ...V101DR.zip, just a suggestion)
