Frando -> Newbie question: follow another TF? (6/17/2007 4:29:49 PM)

I just bought this game yesterday and having been trying to muddle my way through the tutorial. One key point I can't figure out, is how do you get a TF to follow another Tf when you are creating them at the same time as the tutorial has you do? The follow TF button sends you out to the main map while the TF you want to follow is still at home base. I am sure you vets are laughing at this, but I know I am missing something obvious but just can't figure it out. Any help will be appreciated[:)]

It puts you on the main map so you can click on the TF you would like to be followed. In case the TF to follow is in a base with several others you get the symbol for many TFs and can click on this symbol and the select the one you want to be followed. It's usually a good idea to check the number of the TF to be followed to ensure you click the correct one on the screen (check mouseover).

Btw. welcome aboard and wave your real life goodbye. ;)

Thanks it works just fine[:D] Ihave been playing wargames since the 60's but never had much interest in the PTO in WWII till I bought and and viewed the DVD set of Victory At Sea last week. So far this game (FRUSTATIONS AND ALL) looks very cool!

Happy father's day to all who qualify

Be careful using he follow option. Always ensure the tf to be followed is the slowest. Be careful they do not spread out once escorts start refuelling. If you want CV tfs to stick to the transports, set reaction to 0. Make sure that the following tfs have a different home port set. If they have the same port they all make their best speed for it after they reach the objective you set and it can mean that the escorted tf is left exposed during withdrawal.

Thanks for the good advice. I got through the beginners tutorial yesterday and am reading the full manual now. I will try my first game tonight after work.
I have lots of matrix games, love all of them and the support the company and gaming community gives them.
