biddrafter2 -> Suggestions to make PO defenders retreat? (6/26/2007 7:38:05 PM)

In the scenario I'm working on, Force 1 is initially much stronger than Force 2. Force 2 is deployed along a rough line about six hexes north of the ease/west running border. The unit density is pretty low for Force 2 and is not adequate to cover the entire front. This is all by design because I want Force 1, all else being equal, to force a rapid retreat by Force 2 until Force 2 reinforcements arrive. When I play against Force 1 I retreat my units northward and dig in along the rivers to build an adequate line. When I play PO vs. PO, the units do not retreat northward up their objective track and often get surrounded and obliterated. They are set to "Defend". Does anyone have any suggestions for making a rapid retreat more likely? I suppose I could just move the initial objective northward to force the retreat, but I'd rather it be based on what the enemy is doing. Thanks.

That is a tough one, maybe if you set the strategic bias to Cautious or Neutral (just remember to set it higher at some point if you want them to attack later) it might help to get them to move, this with defend and limit losses along with ojectives might work.
