docpaul -> AI in the game.. (7/1/2007 12:38:37 AM)

I know the AI is not great but neither am I at the moment! lol ANyways..does it typically get desparate and do desparate things when losing? Never noticed it awhile back when I first played..it's been 2 years. Anyways..I played Guadalcanal to relearn the game. I am definetly going to win, but now that I have a solid upperhand the AI is doing what i would say is stupid things, although he's attriting me quite well. The latest is constant bombardment attackes on Guadalcanal. I am getting ready to lay waste to Shortland. His last carrier had 98% system damage( I peeked) and then I put a topr in it 1 square form truk..it didn't die...but since then 4 straight bombardmnet task forces to Guadalcanal. While I am decimating him he is also doing a number on me...mostly because of nighttime torp attacks at 2000yds. I have plenty left but now have about 20 heavily damaged CA and DD's. Just seems like he''s giving up...didn't know if this is common, cause if this is stategy, he's really bad! Just want to know what I have to look forward to in the campaign..although it'll be ahwile there till I get a solid upperhand I assume..
Thanks
Doc

The AI is about as bright as the average squirrel... don't count on it doing something terribly brilliant.

It is scripted to do certain things, and once it gets outside of the script, it keeps trying to do them anyway.

It isn't giving up... it is just continuing to execute strategies and tactics that are no longer appropriate.
